From 2026, e-invoice data in transactions with public administration must be reported to the State Revenue Service (VID), and from 1 January 2028 structured e-invoicing becomes mandatory for transactions between Latvian companies as well.

E-invoicing on a new level: create, send, receive and manage e-invoices in one place
E-invoices are no longer just a technical XML file or a formal requirement for public institutions. They are becoming the new standard for how businesses prepare, exchange and process invoices digitally. Numbero helps companies move to e-invoicing simply, clearly and without unnecessary complexity: from issuing a regular invoice to a structured e-invoice prepared according to European Union standards.
With Numbero you keep working the way you are used to: create an invoice, add the client, products or services, VAT details, payment terms and other required information. In parallel, the system prepares a structured XML e-invoice compliant with PEPPOL BIS Billing 3.0 and the EN 16931 standard, including the Latvian national standard LVS EN 16931-1:2017.
This means that in Numbero the same invoice can be both a human-readable PDF document and a machine-readable XML e-invoice.
Built-in European Union standards
Every e-invoice prepared by Numbero follows the PEPPOL BIS Billing 3.0 and EN 16931 requirements. These standards define what information an e-invoice must contain, how it is structured and how systems process it automatically.
Numbero saves you from building XML files by hand, technical errors and unclear formats. You don't need to know what an XML structure looks like or which fields the standard requires: Numbero makes the process automated and understandable.

One invoice: two formats
When issuing an invoice on the Numbero platform, you can prepare both a classic PDF invoice and a structured XML e-invoice at the same time.
The PDF invoice is easy to send to the client and review by a person, while the XML e-invoice is meant for automated processing in accounting, government or business information systems. This reduces manual data entry and the risk of errors, and speeds up invoice processing.

Create, send and download e-invoices
Numbero lets you create an e-invoice from the same document you use in day-to-day billing with your clients. Once the invoice is ready, you can download both the PDF and the XML file and use them according to the client's or institution's requirements.
This is especially important for companies working with state and municipal institutions, since structured e-invoices are already mandatory for B2G transactions in Latvia.

Read received e-invoices in a human-friendly way
An XML file by itself is not comfortable to read. Its information is structured for systems to process, not for a business owner, accountant or administrator to review every day.
Numbero turns a received XML e-invoice into an easy-to-read document. You can preview the content of an e-invoice in an understandable form: the supplier, amounts, VAT, invoice lines, payment terms and other key information: without opening or analysing XML code.

All invoices in one archive
Numbero creates a single document environment where sent and received invoices live in one place. It helps you find the right document faster, check invoice status, compare information and keep your company's billing in order.
No more digging through emails, folders on your computer or different systems. Numbero organises the document flow so invoice management stays clear and safe.

Registering e-invoices received from suppliers
We are working on the ability to not only issue and prepare e-invoices on the Numbero platform, but also receive and register e-invoices from your suppliers.
This will let companies manage both outgoing and incoming e-invoices in one system. Received XML e-invoices can be previewed in an understandable format, stored in the archive and used for further accounting.
This will be especially useful for companies that want to reduce manual invoice entry and gradually move to a fully digital document flow.
Sending e-invoices to public institutions directly from Numbero
Since B2G e-invoices are already mandatory in Latvia, we are working on sending e-invoices to state and municipal institutions directly from the Numbero platform.
The goal is to make the process as simple as possible: no repeated manual entry in other systems, with e-invoice preparation and sending happening in a single working environment.
This will help companies invoice the public sector faster, reduce administrative work and avoid extra steps outside their everyday invoicing system.
Why do e-invoices matter?
An e-invoice is not simply a PDF file sent by email. It is a structured electronic document that other systems can read and process automatically. It helps to:
- reduce manual data entry
- lower the risk of errors in invoice processing
- speed up accounting processes
- improve document traceability
- simplify cooperation with public institutions and businesses
- prepare for the next steps of digitalisation in Latvia and Europe
Numbero helps companies make this transition gradually and practically: without complex technical implementation and without creating XML files separately.
Numbero: a simpler way to work with e-invoices
Numbero combines classic invoicing, PDF documents, structured XML e-invoices and a document archive in one convenient platform.
You issue the invoice as usual: Numbero takes care of the technical part.
E-invoices become a natural part of your daily work, not a separate, complicated process.
